We spent some time here just watching families play with their dogs. This must be a dog friendly beach. It was entertaining to watch balls be thrown into the water and the dogs fetching the balls. It appeared that dogs were loose (not on leash), so be prepared.

Heard about this beach while on the bay cruise, and stopped the next day to visit. Easy drive from Portland hotels, but limited parking. I came stopped late morning, on a Friday, and was able to get in the free lot. Walked the beach, collected some shells, and took a ton of pictures - nice view of the Portland Light... More

Stopped by this morning to take the dog for a walk on the beach and hunt for seaglass. It was beautiful! Dog friendly until 9am. We found lots of seaglass and a quaint little cemetery. Not sure its the beach for swimming but awesome for walks and finding treasures!

Sandy beaches with cool ocean breezes. Rock climbing and fun visit to the fort and lighthouse at low tide.

Up the street, loved being able to walk and enjoy this beauty of a scene! Easy walk to bug light, you can see A couple civil war forts across the way. Watch fisherman boats come In and out of the bay. Some bench seating available to watch a working lighthouse.

Great neighborhood beach for a quick dip in the ocean. Has a nice beach, playground, flushable toilets, lifeguards and canteen for treats. Limited parking, and can be crowded.

We are renting a house locally for a few days. Its April so we came for views but obviously no "normal" beach beach time. We brought our two Boxers on the trip. First day there we walked to the beach we were pleasantly surprised to find the dogs could be off leash all day until 4/30. After that dogs are... More

Went for a great walk on beach with family, friends and several dogs. Great place to walk your dog in the off season. Popular dog walking area for locals. Friendly!
