My wife bikes over here regularly to savor the views. It's a popular spot with abundant parking, a boat ramp, and the mocked up bow of a Liberty ship is well explained by the many display panels.

This lighthouse is on the end of a jetty that was longer at one time but filled in to make the park adjacent to the lighthouse. It is quite unique and ornate - I believe some of its flair is driven by Greek architecture. Small but nice area with great views of the harbor and the city of Portland. We... More

Bug Light is one of the best places to go in South Portland. There is lots of green space and a paved walkway that takes you along the water and right to the lighthouse. It's a great place to walk dogs (on leash and an off-leash area), have a picnic, or sit on one of the benches watching ships enter... More

I visited on June 9, 2015 during a roadtrip with three other friends. Since we are from PA, we don't see a lot of lighthouses. Therefor we enjoyed everyone we visited, and this one was no different. It may be the smallest lighthouse I've ever seen, which makes it pretty awesome! There is plenty of parking and it is free,... More

We visited Portland on a cruise , this took in Kennebunkport a really charming Maine town - home to GW Bush ! It is also worth taking a boat trip to look take in lobster fishing. The Wedding cake is also close by ( worth seeing but not worth spending time visiting). The Portland light house is one of the... More

Nice and cool walk to the lighthouse. The landscape and seacape are both really pretty and quite relaxing. Definitely, a must-see in Maine.

It is a long walk out to the Lighthouse, with many wide gaps between the stones. The wall can be slippery at times. Make sure you are well rested and wear nice rubber sole walking shoes. It is really worth the walk :-)
