Loved walking down to the shore edge to pick out our lobsters for dinner. They were so good we bought lobsters back to the motel 3 nights during our stay. Prepared them & ate them on our deck while watching the boats come into the harbor.

Locals told us about this place, and we couldn't believe how good the lobster was! We steamed then in a large pot on a bed of seaweed along with some local mussels. No butter was needed!!! Spoiled forever! Can't wait for next year!

We bought soft-shell lobsters, which are most common this time of year. Sometimes the meat is small as they are still growing into their new shells, but these were plump and tasty.

Small, unassuming stand serving sandwiches and ice cream, with lobster rolls overflowing with fresh and abundant lobster meat. You can eat on the little attached deck or cross the street and sit and eat on the bench next to the statue of the granite worker in Stonington Village. Great place for lunch.

We rented a place just above the Lobster Coop and watched the coming and going of the boats and people! BUSY! We ordered the lobster ahead and when we came Marie got a plastic box out of the water with our 4 lobsters. 2 soft and 2 hard shells. You have to try the difference! With the left overs we... More

I love the coop! First of all you are supporting the lobster-men directly not some middleman. Their hours are convenient and their prices are the lowest around. You cannot get fresher lobsters unless you own your own trap. You stop at the office, get a bag and then go down to the dock and literally get your lobster's right off... More

If you love lobster and are willing to DIY it (our first time, easy but messy) this is the place to go. They literally were taking them off a boat and putting them in our bags.

We bought 4 lobsters (2 hard shell/2 new shell) after speaking with the guys on the dock. They were very friendly and helpful. Offered us big lobsters to take pictures with and spent time explaining how to prepare them. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Deer Isle!

Fantastic fresh Lobsters direct from the people who catch them - what could be better? - we preferred the hard shell lobster which contain more meat - Nancy in the office was friendly and helpful - excellent value too.
