You must try to stop by and see Natures Tidal Reversing Falls. I think it is amazing. Why would you not go. Pack a lunch and stay awhile, basking in the sounds and views. Go or not, I think you will be surprised by it.

Nice picnic area, beautiful falls bût probably the only non-dog Friendly Park in Maine! Our dogs are our children & much better behaved than most kids we’ve run in too! Shame on tidal falls! My advice don’t waste your time on this tiny snobby place!

This is not a tourist attraction that most people passing through would see. It is a mile or two off Rt 1 and we only went because our innkeeper told us about it. It is a lovely area with a nice picnic area, but the...More

This place is sooo beautiful. Cute picnic area. We went twice once for low tide and then came back for a completely different view at high tide. We saw an otter, a seal, loons, and many different birds...just loved it.

We love coming here for picnics, it's quiet and pretty, and has a lot of picnic tables. The falls change constantly, depending on the tides while you are there, and go from rapids to a smooth stream at high tide, with the falls changing direction...More

Our map listed this as Sullivan Falls...no Tidal Falls listed. So we stumbled on this by chance. We didn't know that it's called the same name. If you catch it at the right time, these unique reversing tides are beautiful -- swirling and going in...More

The water swirled and splashed. Fun to watch and see. Tons of mussels on rocks at low tide. Imagine all tide changes are a show to see, we saw a lot at low tide. The view is pretty and worth it. This park allows you...More

Tidal Falls is a reversing falls. It all depends on the tides on how good your show will be. We like to take a picnic there around high tide (there are mutable picnic tables) and wait for the water to start flowing out and you...More

A local told us about tidal falls or we would have missed it. It is an amazing thing to see. As the tide comes in about 6 a.m. To 4 p.m at high tide the river flowed west. As soon as the tide starts to...More

The Gulf of Maine has one of the largest tidal ranges (high tide - low tide) in the world, due to tidal resonance. Changes in the tides can have interesting effects on coastal rivers, including making them appear to flow backwards as high tide is...More
