Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The falls are cascading and are best seen during July to November. The Karnataka forest department is doing a splendid job on maintaining the cleanliness and order.
It is a pity that they have stopped the walk to the bottom of the falls where one could take a coracle ride right to where the water falls .
A must visit during the season.

Monsoon being at its peak has breathed life into the waterfalls here and it gives the perfect scenic shot to the eyes. The gushing roaring river flowing down the rocky cliff provides a visual treat to the eyes. There are seats for the elderly to sit and relax and catch the view of the falls from above, in case they are not comfortable to descend the steps below.
The parking lot is at a distance of one km to walk, with steps to descend down for a view point. There are not much eating choices at this place, except for snacks like bhel puri, tender coconut, cut fruits sugarcane juice, ice cream etc. Moreover the hawkers would sell them at premium given to the situation. So better to carry snacks of your own. One needs to be cautious about the monkeys who happen to be quite courageous enough to plunge and snatch the food.
The place is around 140 kms from Bangalore I took the kanakpura road instead of the mysore road to avoid the busy weekend traffic and it did turn out to be a good decision. The drive was smooth and relaxing but road being narrow at places.
All in all, a decent weekend getaway from Bangalore for a days trip.

Have been with friends from Bangalore, as a weekend bike ride of 160Kms. A good place, with proper roads for two wheelers & four wheelers, for a weekend getaway. But, not an ideal Waterfall for those expect to enjoy getting in water. Visitors are allowed just to watch the Waterfalls from a view point(Strictly). However, there are baby Waterfalls(not exactly but a river flow type) on the way to the main waterfall. People can get into water at that place and can enjoy. A lot of local sea food stores are available offering smoked fish and Parota. Boat ride(Boat made out of bamboo) is available at Rs.100/ per person at the river on the way to waterfall.
Better to:
1. Start early from your place
2. Carry water bottle & little snacks on the way
3. Get a pair of shorts to enjoy the baby falls.

After a long time i have started my trip culture and started with shivanasamudra falls which is awesome falls very pleasing to eye. But its not allowed to closure to the water. However it has nice view point. Keep in mind that you have to visit this place during monsoon session so that it has very good water flow. Otherwise you will be disappointed. On the way closure to falls there are few places you can get into water and relax, also lot of road side fish fry stalls you can try where more crowded so that you will fresh fish(My personal thought). I tried one place taste was good with fresh breeze and water flow music also dont forget the hygiene of the place and food. It was kind of feel that i have visited country side and refreshing one day trip.

Guess this place has been hyped more then what it is suppose to be. After 5 hours of drive what I get to see was a small sight of waterfall which was 2 kms away from the restricted area.
On the way the views were much better.
