- boisekariBoise, Idaho94 contributionsNice views --all the way to New Hampshire.Lovely mountain top with great panoramic views including info maps on what was in the view. Took an easy walking trail that was wheelchair accessible about 1 mile long. Other trails offered loner routes. Even the drive up to park was scenic. Nice picnic spot, too!Visited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 11 October 2023

- 46oceangirlWestford, Massachusetts1,810 contributionsPretty view at the topThere is plenty of psrking at the entrance. Clean bathrooms and trailheads. We chose to drive up the mountain and parked at the top. You need to pay to park. We did an hour. More than enough. We walked the perimeter and the views are over land and you can see the ocean. Plenty of picnic tables at the top along with 2 viewing platforms. Nice place to go to spend and hour or so if you bring a lunch.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 July 2024

Easy and quick drive to the top. We explored and hiked around the top with our 4 and 6 year olds for about an hour. Lots of trails to choose from with nice markings so you knew where you were going. Platforms for taking panoramic pictures and viewing the Maine coastline and the forest were amazing! We did not do the hike up, but there were a lot of people there hiking up from the bottom. This was definitely worth the trip there!

They have made some nice improvements such as parking (lower, middle and upper) and bathrooms (ETA later this month). However, because of these improvements, there is now a few to park, payable only by web or app (see pic). Some good areas that are wheelchair accessible. I believe handicap parking is free as there are no numbers on those parking spots and the only way to pay is to put the space number.

They closed the access road for the summer due to construction. The only way to get to the Big A trail is to walk 1.5 miles uphill on a rocky path. They should offer shuttle service but don't and they don't mention anything on their website.

We never get tire of Mount Agamenticus. The views are spectacular, and the hiking is great. Pay for your own parking at the self-pay machine. New and improved buildings being constructed. This is a great place for all groups. Trails are not handicap accessible, but wheelchairs can be accommodated in and around the parking lot and adjacent areas. There are restrooms and observation decks. Stargazing is great here as it is relatively free of commercial light. During this visit, rain came in quickly. The lightning was awesome.

Beautiful views. Attended a Wedding Reception there several years ago in a rented
venue. It was in September and the views could not have been better. Great for Family and young children, friends, and couples.

A one-mile crushed stone trail provides universal access to the top of this 692’ monadnock with 360 degree views. A few bridges keep the path relatively level and benches provide resting points as well as spots to stop and enjoy the views. A ramp leads up to one of the viewing platforms with fantastic views of the White Mountains including Mount Washington.
The flashing light from Nubble Lighthouse on Cape Neddick and the sandy beaches of Ogunguit and Wells will catch your attention while staring out at the vast Atlantic. Signs in each cardinal direction point out different landmarks. Informative signage dots the trail.
Drive to the top and park for free. The two porta-potties are handicap accessible. Once a ski area, a few remnants remain as well as a memorial cairn to Algonquin leader St. Aspinquid. The former ski lodge is now the Learning Lodge and is open on weekends from May-October.
Numerous trails on Mount Agamenticus are available for hiking, biking, and snowshoeing. Some trails are even open for equestrians and ATV riders. Trail signs are easy to find and read with trails color coded and marked for specific use.
Mount Agamenticus is a hidden gem. Choose a clear sunny day to visit and soak in the spectacular views!!

I had not heard of this spot before but my daughter suggested it. Easy drive up the small mountain which affords sweeping views inland and to sea in 360 degree views. It’s also free!
Mount Battie in Camden offers sweeping views of the ocean, harbor and islands in comparison. Two very different views each worth it!

Clean, beautiful park with a million dollar view! Great place to take the kids for a hike and to see the sights. Cape Neddick, the Piscataqua River Bridge and the White Mountains in NH. All in perfect view on a clear day. Breathtaking!

Anyone who has been there in the summer of 2022 notice a problem with ticks? Numerous reviews from 2019 say there was a horrible problem with them and just wondering if it still exists.

How much time should one allow for a round trip hike (including some downtime at the summit to take in the views)?

Does anyone know if this is the mountain you can see from in front of the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport?
Written 25 June 2016
Mt. Agamenticus is only 500 feet tall, so it isn't the largest mountain in the area. Mt. A is southwest of Kennebunkport and southwest of Ogunquit.

My husband and I are visiting the area next week with my two elderly parents, and we want to take them to Mount Agamenticus. They can walk slowly, one walks with a cane. What do you recommend is the best way for them to experience the mountain? Is there a really easy trail we can try to walk? Are there places to park that have a great view? Any ideas are appreciated. Thank you!

I am not sure if there are easy hikes...we drove to the top and then it was just a real short walk to the viewpoints. No hills or inclines. Don't think it would be a problem at all. Enjoy!!
