In August 2013, I requested Tripadvisor.com to include this place in its list of places to visit in Gaithersburg. Today, I visited it again and noted some changes/improvements. The parking area next to the Train Station was updated due to some drainage issues. It will...More

Olde Towne Gaithersburg is Very Good, and getting better! There is a City Museum, and Railroad cars, including an old "retired" engine. The area close by is under construction and will have a wonderful new park area with ample seating. The older stores in downtown...More

When I visit Gaithersburg it was mostly farms and forest. As time went on progress was going on. Development of households, townhouses, and apartment s were being built. As for old part of Gaithersburg it does exist still somewhat.

It's not a place to go for something to do because you are bored and looking for overpriced artsy craftsy places to drop your money. There are certainly things to do around there, such as Summit Hall Farm Park and Seneca Creek State Park. But...More

Old Towne was envisioned as preservation of 1920s-1940s character of a small, semi-agricultural railway whistle stop, which it still does if you look hard enough. However, this area is also the location of one of the older Mexican & Central American rental community in central...More

This is nothing special as far as small downtowns. You have the historic railroad museum/coffee shop and a few family owned businesses but most of the downtown is mostly small, newer Spanish restaurants that are quite good authentic food.

Nothing to see or do. I live in Gaithersburg. There used to be several restaurants in old Gaithersburg, but now there is only Growlers (which is quite good).

Old Towne does take you back in time. The buildings are old but has charm. There are just a couple of places to eat, it could be better with a few things to bring more folks in.

Unfortunately no because the old town is very small. However, you will have plenty of parking at the museum or on street (a few blocks).
