Good place for a hike!

We wandered thru and, while the housed collections were interesting, it's the land and water views that made our day. Not a crowded area so good for getting away from it all.

We happened by this place on a whim while looking for somewhere to walk around and finally enjoy the break in hot weather. We're so glad we found this place and it's free! A few short hikes take you right to the water! Wide open fields and even an example of an Indian village. Great deck/walkway that winds down toward... More

My wife and I stopped here while traveling to St. Mary's County. We had 90 minutes to spare before we had to hit the road to make our appointed check-in time at our B & B. We wanted to find a nice historic site with a picnic area. The day was exceptionally hot - mid-90s. The visitor center was perfect... More

Perfect venue for a Southern Maryland wedding!!! Lots of acreage, rustic barns, and a view of the water all in one! I love the festivals held here every year. We've had family picnics, bike riding, attended a wedding, and will continue to do so at one of Calvert County's gorgeous parks!

We want on Labor Day (Monday.) The Museum is closed on Monday, but there are still several hikes and driving tours around the park. And access to the river for Kayaks and canoes is still open. We were also able to see artifacts from the same time period of "Outlander." The day tip ended with a drive out to Petersons... More

We were at the Park to attend our Niece's wedding. It was held in an old, restored barn on the Park property. Absolutely gorgeous!! The Grounds, the museum, the venue for the wedding. All beautiful!! Wish we had more time to spend there!

Pretty little wooded site at the junction of St. Leonard Creek and the Patuxent River. It has a really nice visitor center with exhibits about archaeology in general and excavations in the region specifically. Nice self guided trail touring sites related to the battle of St Leonard's Creek (War of 1812). They also have a reconstructed Native American village that... More

We have spent many happy hours at this park, walking and enjoying the views, but we recently were able to tour the house that the Patterson family used while they resided here. This tour is only available on Monday at 10 am and 1 pm, and is a wonderful trip into the history of both the family and the area.... More
