We just think that the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is a national treasure. The Navy Point campus, all of the exhibits, the programs - all are educational and historically significant - in a fun way. I can't think of something I'd rather do than spend Saturday at the Museum!

We traveled here on a bus trip in May 2015. Had a great guided tour of the buildings. They explained all about oyster harvesting and restocking.

We came to St. Michael's as a side trip from Baltimore and Annapolis. Finding the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum was a bonus. I have lived in the Midwest and find the Chesapeake Bay and mid-Atlantic lifestyle interesting. The museum grounds are entered by driving under a drawbridge once used on Tilghman Island. The museum is entered through the gift shop.... More

This museum has a lot of buildings to go through with a variety of exhibits. We spent 3 hours there and they closed before we had seen all of the buildings. The lighthouse is on the grounds. I will review the lighthouse separately but the lighthouse is awesome! There is even an area to try to pull up eels and... More

Friends took us to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and we were all astonished to see soooo much history in such a small place, including people actually making and restoring wooden boats!

The museum has much to offer the entire family. There are demonstration of wooden boat building, boat rides, interactive exhibits all showcasing the Chesapeake Bay. You can even climb up inside a light house.

This museum is where James Michener did his research for the book "Chesapeake". Lots of exhibits to view from the history of goose/ duck hunting on the bay, to the history section of oyster harvesting...

We had a full day with three children enjoying the museum. It is large enough to spend 3-4 hours there. Pack a lunch. There were a lot of hands on activities for our kids (4,6,19) to do. The adults had fun, too. They also have a lovely gift shop with Eastern Shore items. I would love to go back when... More

I was blown away by how much fun and interactive the maritime museum was. Many different buildings to explore and learn about the history in the area. Beautiful laid out, plenty of restrooms and very well maintained. A must when visiting St. Michaels.
