My wife and I were staying in nearby Taneytown and decided on a whim, to visit this museum. Though out of season, this was still a very nice experience. The "museum" is actually about 17 buildings essentialy reenacting farm life in the 19th century. Exhibits include how people spent their daily lives, the work they did, the tools they used,... More

Went there to kill an hour and spent 3 hours visiting; could have stayed longer. It really was very interesting. Bucolic setting, very beautiful and peaceful. Staff friendly and informative. If you have any interest in how people lived in the 18th and 19th century, you will surely enjoy this place. On premises is a barn built in 1780, as... More

The Wine Festival each September is always on the 3rd weekend. This event is now known, as one of the best wine festivals in the country. Over 10,000 people show on a Saturday and as well on Sunday. Meet people the old fashion way, Take a break from the dating sites on your computer. .

I am sure this sight would be an awesome time IF you are there during the height of season when they had all kinds of living history events going on. When we were there we paid for entrance to the sight and found that vast majority of buildings were locked. Staff just sort of shrugged about it. Make sure there... More

The farm museum always has something going on. Beside the museum there is a large pond that is stocked with trout. You can pack a lunch or bring a grill and enjoy the day. Kids will love it!!!

The Farm Museum is an incredibly educational experience about what it was like to live on a farm in the late 19th century. Craftsmen/women keep traditions such as blacksmithing, weaving and even making broom alive. In years past the farm also functioned as an almshouse, which was a place for homeless to live and work the farm. Adjacent to the... More

I have lived in carroll county area since 1991 and still enjoy the farm museum. I used to take my sons there often to picnic, fly kites and walk the beautiful property even when there was no "event" going on.There is alot of history there as well as animals to see.
