Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely day out, we go here regularly as it’s one of our favourites to just wind down and relax, you can hire boats to go down the canal too.

We drove along the Canal; after exploring Sandwich, and before working our way over to Monument Beach.
We stopped several times to enjoy the views of the water, and traffic upon it.
The paths along the Canal, offer a wonderful opportunity for hiking, biking, strolling and/or just sitting & appreciating the area. .

It was great to walk there, watch the boats passing. The Cape Cod Canal is 28 km long, located in Massachusetts connecting Cape Cod Bay in the north to Buzzards Bay in the south. It is part of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway.

Cape Cod Canal is one of the great wonders of the Cape. Two beautiful bridges, The Bourne and the Sagamore have been photographed thousands of times. Watching the railroad bridge lower is something you won’t see anywhere else! You will never tire of the ever changing scenery, the gorgeous sunsets, wild life, and all of the different boats and ships that travel the canal. You might even see a whale if your lucky.

The man-made Cape Cod Canal is very scenic with both boat traffic traveling up & down and walkways (for bikes & foot traffic) on either shore. The railroad to Hyannis is also on the southern shore of the Canal, adding to the traffic to observe.

I spent a couple of hours riding a bike along the trail next to the Cape Cod Canal. It was a lot of fun. I rented the bike from Canal Cruisers. The bike was in great shape, the staff was helpful and they are only a couple of blocks from the canal.

Great walk by the canal. Beautiful weather made it even better. Great to sit by the water and watch the boats pass by and other activity.

The canal is a pretty setting for a walk, run, or cycle ride, and there are trails on both sides of it. I'm sure it is also nice if you could have a boat on it. There are a few restaurants and hotels along the trail so that can be convenient.

We got over the bridge early and had time this visit so decided to explore the areas near the Cape Cod Canal and Sandwich. The Cape Cod Canal Walk is seven miles long give or take on each side of the canal. Nicely designed to accommodate pedestrians and cyclists. Most everyone was courteous and shared the space in an amicable manner. Along the walk or ride you can enjoy the boats traversing the space, fishermen, nature, the bridges and more. On a hot day I would recommend having a drink and a snack depending upon how much of the length you plan on accomplishing. An enjoyable experience and we are sure to be back.
