Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This iconic Cape Cod landmark never fails to amaze me. It’s chock full Iof Cape Cod souvenirs, children’s clothing, toys, and hostess gifts.

Expertly curated gift items and friendly staff - the draw for us was the penny candy-4 children under 8 swarmed the back of the store and choose their favorites. The staff was so accommodating-writing each child’s name on their bag and totaling up their purchases. We sat outside on the Republican/Democrat benches to eat our spoils!
Come here for gifts and leave with a fireball or two!
You will not be disappointed.

As the 1856 Country Store name implies, this is a mid Nineteenth Century building in the heart of the well preserved Nineteenth Century village of Centerville. They have a terrific selection of 'penny' candy items, though you'd be hard pressed to find anything actually selling for one cent these days. Additionally, there is also a wide variety of Cape themed gifts. After a visit to Craigville Beach or the famous Four Seas Ice Cream shop, this is also a required stop, especially for the kids. Covid has been a challenge for all, but now that the Summer crowds have dispersed, it is easier to spend a little time in the store and take in their great selection of souvenirs. If Centerville has captured your interest as a great central Cape spot to stay, you're right!, and the Capt. David Kelley House is two doors down from the store. It is a wonderful spot in this enchanting throwback to a simpler time.

Really cute country store near our B&B The David Kelley House. Kids loved picking out candy and getting their orders at the window. The shop is filled with cute souvenirs, collectibles, jewelry, toys...too much to type. Go there!

The idea of this store is very cute, but we won’t be returning. Due to COVID they only allow 7 people in the store at one time, we completely respect this it is important to be compliant. However, no one is watching the door to let you know it’s okay to come in, we walked in when we saw the correct number of people leave and one of the clerks yelled at us not to come in, even though we waited for the appropriate number. The store is small and cramped and very overpriced. There are so many other stores like this, go elsewhere.

This is a unique little shop, whoever does the buying has an excellent eye, the selection is always changing and everything is chosen with love and care. Great for seasonal or birthday gifts, or treating yourself! The candy section is always popular with visiting families, who insist on going back every time they visit! Don't forget to take your picture on the Rep/Dem benches outside! I came here on my very first visit to the Cape 25 years ago, and now that i'm a year-round resident, I'm lucky enough to drop in whenever I please!

I browsed around this quaint little shop and found the most adorable hand puppet for my grandson. I am a kid at heart so I was making little voices to match the puppet and couldn't stop giggling. When I checked out the clerk laughed and said I could see you had fun. I did!
