My boyfriend and I decided to go camping over the winter. We stayed a few nights in Cabin 5. It located on top of a hill, further back, by itself, not even a minute from the bathrooms (walking). The cabin is decent sized. Plenty of space for a couple. The rangers were friendly and helpful, and the park was clean. We... More

This was day four of a tour of all the New England States. I wasn’t sure what to expect on this part of the journey, though I had traveled close by about four years ago when I went skiing at Crotched Mountain NH. I remembered that route of having loads and loads of trees and not too much traffic. And... More

A trip through the complete Mohawk trail during fall pick time is so beautiful, you may want to take photos every other mile of your trip. Just traveling side with the river in a very woody, colorfull road, getting to the forest and trailing.....take your breath away..

We did a lovely 3-hour hike at Mohawk Trail State Forest, on the Mahican-Mohawk, Indian and Nature trails. Although it was a cool, windy day, we were comfortable walking on the mostly wooded trails with an amazing canopy of fall leaves above us, and views of meadows and the Deerfield River along the way. Since it was after Columbus Day... More

Beautiful campground in the forest, with sights overlooking the Cold River. Campground includes showers, bathrooms and dishwashing stations, without taking away from the forest feel. Sights include bear boxes for food. Local attractions include Deerfield River, whitewater rafting and tubing, Williamstown and North Adams are a short drive away, where several museums are located.

After reading many good reviews, we decided to try a cabin for camping. I think we're too spoiled to go back to a tent now! Nestled amongst an old forest, this is a gorgeous campground which is well kept, clean and scenic. We rented cabin 5 for a week in the summer. It is a nice log cabin with a... More

My children are the 5th generation of our family camping at the Mohawk. Hopefully this year we'll see our 6th generation enjoying herself here. Thumper Mountain trail, the upper and lower meadows, wildlife, the Cold River, campsites and cabins with great prices and very friendly rangers. Shelburne Falls just down the road with the Glacial Potholes and the Bridge of... More

Very nice area for views and hiking. You can even just sit by the river and have a picnic. Fall is especially beautiful.
