Wahconah Falls is located just half a mile off route 9 on the west side of Dalton. We live close by and frequently take our family and friends to see the beautiful falls only 2 miles from our home. There is ample free parking available. The State Park is unattended and a trail walk of several hundred yards from the... More

We went with a large group of family members thinking that this was a state park that was still being maintained. There is no entrance fee, and therefore there is no maintenance. However, there is a bathroom, but there is not a sink in there, so bring antibacterial soap. Otherwise, there are gas stations within five minutes. Go after a... More

I have come to this location for a hike a few times and recently noticed this is supposedly private property (of the state). The area is fairly clean and a nice place for a hike. The waterfall is best after it's been raining so you can see the action (just not when the dirt is wet obviously). Lots of uphill... More

Great little place to go for a picnic lunch and to check out the falls.. a nice little hike from the parking area down to the falls. Very pretty drive up and walk down in the fall as the leaves are all kinds of beautiful changing colors.

I hate to even mention this place as I am afraid it will attract more people. Hidden on a side road off Rt 9 in Dalton. this waterfall and pool; and hiking trails is a great spot for kids and adults . Picnic table and grills are available and best of all it's free. On a hot day there is... More

This park is off the beaten track but is home to a beautiful waterfall. There is a loop trail but we couldn't find the trail markers. Great place to have a picnic and listen to the falls.

One of the clean untouched places n the Berkshires, always great for pictures or to just hike always a great view no matter were you go in that area.

Growing up in the town of Dalton Massachusetts, Wahconah Falls was a common summer excursion. The water here is cold and clean, a great stop to enjoy a picnic and a swim.

No signs, no directions, no nuthun'. A local directed us to an empty parking lot. We couldn't see the falls, and the leaves covered any trails. We weren't about to go wandering through the woods in search of the falls we didn't even know existed.

Since the Falls was on our route to Pittsfield, Ma, we stopped. The sign on the highway is not easy to see. The Falls were not much in terms of waterfalls. The approach road eventually becomes almost all ruts. Other than a parking area, there were no improvements to the "park". We did not take the hiking trails and only... More
