With docents eager to tell its history, this replica of the original Los school house no doubt has brought back many memories for the older generation, are well as introducing current schoolers to what it was like back in the day.

We spent about 20-30 minutes here. It's a small place with a replica single family school house in one room and a histrorical museum for the town of eastham in the other room. One can get through everything very quickly. A very enthusiastic docent was...More

We visited this again as we enjoyed it a few years ago. It is also part of the Eastham Historical Society. Great for teaches to see what the "old days" we like and for kids to sit in the old classroom. The school has lots...More

The 1869 Schoolhouse and Museum is a wonderful step back in time. We had visited this museum many, many years ago, and in 2008 they added a large addition to house many Eastham artifacts. The focus when we visited this year was Eastham's residents' participation...More

Nicely restored 19th century one-room schoolhouse featuring vintage desks, books, and tablets (the kind you write on with chalk, not the modern-day computers!). You can touch almost everything in the schoolroom. Such fun to have your friend take your picture sitting at an antique school...More

The one room schoolhouse was like stepping back in time. Because it is small it doesn't take long to see. The Eastham Museum on the other side is small also but has many interesting displays about the history of the Cape.

Very nice, old school house. You can sit in the desks and actually hold a class! My daughter played school teacher and we were the students. We all had great fun. Don't miss the Eastham Musuem on the other side of the building.

Short museum, offers great history on Eastham and area. It is very small and you can go through it in a very short time. Not a great spot to bring young children and the older children may bore quickly, but it will offer them a...More

Thsi is a bit unusual. It is a hands on 1869 classroom. Kids can sit in the seats, read the old books, write on their won chalkboard at every desk. Touchy, feel is good for kids.

This was a one-room school house back in the old days and has been lovingly and painstakingly preserved. Much is still in the classroom--including portraits of former students in period dress. We were there for a special open house and had the pleasure of talking...More
