Hidden gem in Framingham

I went to walk with a friend and I was surprised I lived so close to such a beautiful space of unadulterated nature. Highly recommended.

The Garden in the Woods provides a quiet walk down different trails and paths. Unfortunately at this time of year there wasn't too much in bloom. But even so, it was very nice if you enjoy nature walks. It also has a nice gift shop. There is an admission charge.

If you love natural surroundings and being outdoors then Garden in the Woods should be on your list of things to check out. There are acres of forested trails that weave through gardens packed with rare plants and habitats. You can spend an hour going for a leisurely walk, or spend a good part of the day studying the varied... More

I love Garden in the Woods! It's a nice easy hike/stroll thru a very specific ecosystem. But the "garden" that it is celebrating and advocating for is very subtle and not always in bloom. I can't imagine visitors looking for fun or exciting would like to come here. It is more a reflective retreat into nature. I like it best... More

Open from April to November, the Garden in the Woods is the display garden of the New England Wild Flower Society. They have lovely walking trails, offer classes, have a gift shop and very limited food offerings but they do have tables and you can bring a picnic

We had high expectations and unfortunately the visit fell flat. While the walk through the woods was interesting, most everything looked so wilted and dried up. The paths and some of the greenery were well laid out and there were definitely quiet areas with sitting benches where it might be nice to relax, however, there were no evident garden areas... More

To be fair, with a rain deficit in mid-August our visit may have not been the best time of year to explore this site in search of greenery and blooms. Regardless, this is at tops a $5 attraction for something akin to a nicer than usual walk in the woods. Direction signage was also a bit confusing - more than... More

This place is amazing. Beautiful, relaxing, quiet, peaceful. A few of us gals thought we would go to "Garden in the woods" to relax and be away from the world, if just for a bit. Walking the paths and viewing the new design for this year. I really like this place. I'd like to come by here and draw sometime.... More

The hubby and I are looking to explore local attractions and this came up as one of the most scenic areas in Massachusetts. Parking is free. When you arrive, you can easily take a left without paying. You have to go out of you're way to go right, into the gift shop, where you wait in line to pay $12... More

A rich and stunning tapestry of the finest flora New England has to offer. Sensitive schemes and planting give you different areas to explore, and helpful information and staff make the experience all the more enriching. A chance too to evade the pace of the day.
