My husband and I purchased a Groupon for a whale watch on this boat and went on a beautiful summer day. We arrived early but still found check-in pretty chaotic with long lines. I do suggest arriving early as good seating on the boat was limited. In fact, this would be my biggest complaint. People would block off seats and... More

I believe that this review was for a Whale Watch, not the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon. We are glad to hear that you saw lots of Whales though. More

I expected more in the way of sightseeing Instead, it was a sailboat ride around the harbor. It was nice, just not what I expected.

We did a celtic music cruise this time and it was again wonderful. Weather is of course the wildcard but cooperative as usual. The boat is comfortable and not crowded. The crew will interact with you and answer any questions you may have. We had the pleasure of the owner riding as a passenger and he was great fun to... More

What made the day sail so great was the crew. We were traveling with two 6 year olds and they went above and beyond to make sure they were having fun. The kids got to help raise the sails and clean the deck. They loved it. The crew also taught them how to make knotted bracelets and told them jokes.... More

Thanks for providing such a wonderful review. Our crew does try to go out of the way to keep kids engaged during the sail and activities such as helping raise the sails, tying bracelets, etc. are just a few ways they do that. We strive to have the trip be a peaceful outing on the water. Thanks and we hope... More

Took the two hour sail this past weekend and had a great time. Easy place to find, plenty of parking and office staff was great. Very nice Sailing Schooner and great crew. You can kick back and enjoy or help out the crew to get the sails up. The crew answered all our questions and were very friendly/polite. They sell... More

I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience we had aboard the Thomas E. Lannon on the 22nd of July. A beautiful 2 hour sail with the Captain and crew who were so gracious at answering all of our questions and making the day that much more enjoyable. What could be any more authentic than an Essex built Gloucester schooner... More

We couldn't have picked a more perfect day for a sail. And the perfect ship too! The Thomas Lannon is a large schooner that's beautifully outfitted. The crew was friendly and engaging. They enlisted help with the sails from passengers, so that we got a taste of what it takes to make one of these graceful ships move. It was... More
