Glad we found it

We really enjoyed visiting the Veterans Memorial. There were a few war vets there at the time and it was a very special stop.

The monument recognizes the sacrifices of the military in our forgotten war--Korea. The monument is adjacent to the Kennedy memorial and is well done with a beautiful bronze infantryman.

Not much to see but a few plaques, but there is a shady picnic tables and a little beach area. I would not go out of my Where are you? to go there but if you would like a break and are driving by, check it out.

This beach is right on Ocean street and is a small beach, but has great views of the boats and ferries.

We love the beach at Veterans Memorial Park! It's never crowded and it's family friendly. And the geese that roam the park are fun to watch.

Good to see the Armed Forces being recognised in this manner. However, whilst I fully appreciate that this is a memorial to US Servicemen and women, I was a little disappointed to note that the information boards about the Korean War made not a single mention of the contribution made by other countries to the UN forces. Great Britain, Canada,... More

My review of this park is: This is a serene and peaceful setting, with a lovely view. The playground is great for children. It is clean and a comfortable place to 'just be'. There were no lifeguards because of the time of year, and the water was warmish because it is the harbor. The beach itself is quite nice. The... More
