Love this location, great day trip. Beautiful grounds are great for hiking and viewing the New England coast. First time we toured the house and found it very informative.

We dropped in on this mansion and the grounds and were taken aback at the contrast between how the Crane family (the Chicago family that got its wealth from selling bathroom fixtures, and toilets) lived and summered in Ipswich. We did not take the formal...More

Our tour guide was knowledgeable, and conducted the tour in the character of a maid from the 20s, which was a lot of fun.

yes, the hours posted are accurate. There are limited times and days to visit, but you can drive out to this place most days and drive through the estate grounds, get out and walk around or just go siteseeing as a hike.
