The past year this biking trail has been re-paved. No more glass fragments in the pavement to puncture your tires. The trail is easily accessible. 1st timers, park behind Whole Foods in South Hadley. Head west if your a beginner (towards Northampton, MA) or if you have young children.

I've biked, walked, jogged and geocached along this beautiful path. Lots of shade, benches and lovely stops, if needed, to make your trip enjoyable. There are water fountains as well. There's scenic views of the surrounding mountains for your visual pleasure. Definitely worth travelling along!

This is truly an extraordinary bike path. Several sections of it have now been connected and it's endless miles of path to check out.

Although relatively flat and straight for much of its length, this trial is absolutely wonderful. Most of the trail is shaded and remains cool through the morning into the summer. It was recently repaved, widened, and upgraded with the installation of benches and informational kiosks at some locations. Parking is available in Amherst on Station Road, at the trail terminus... Gorgeous, peaceful ride. Love the bridge over the Connecticut River. Plenty of parking, picnic tables, and portajohns on the Northampton end. Well-loved and well-used. Recently repaved.

The Rail Trail offers a scenic tour of farmland, swamps and nature. Great for bike riders or walkers. We use it for a safe bike riding experience for three seasons. I the spring it is also a prime area for bird watching. Travel the back side of Hadley farmland, Amherst College and enjoy the wildlife of several brooks and swamps.... More

I start this trail in Belchertown off Warren Wright Rd. A small parking lot starts the trail off. The first 5 miles is quiet rolling thru conversation areas. As you bike closer to Northampton, you ride past universities, the Hadley Mall and end up at the railroad bridge by the Rte 91 ramp. At the end of the trail is... More

My husband and I came here for a bike ride. The trail is mostly level and fully paved which made for a nice leisurely ride. We started at the bridge over the Connecticut River which was beautiful. It is a very long bridge with gorgeous views of the river. The trail went through lots of farmland which was very pretty.... More

Great trail that takes you through beautiful wilderness areas, parks, near water and bird sanctuary, by old railheads and over old rail bridges. We loved it. Great trail.

Love this trail to walk on but during prime times you need to keep a good look out for bikes and skaters. My favorite spot is crossing over the Connecticut River into Hadley at sunset. Lots of shade and pastural views. Parking is available on the Northampton side.
