Marine Specialties has been a Provincetown landmark for over 50 years. Often known simply as "the army-navy store," Marine Specialties is an eclectic treasure trove of salvage, surplus, slight IRs, closeouts, overruns, misprints, mistakes, spare parts, odd lots, cast-offs, and new and nearly-new items. Over time it's grown to be the kind of jumbled, inclusive, and eccentric "army-navy" store Provincetown deserves. Many people young and old call this their favorite shop. History Started in 1961 by Bob and Elizabeth Patrick as a Retail Mail Order business with a small hand illustrated catalog. Marine Specialties evolved into an eclectic Army Navy store during the 1960's.The Patrick's have traveled the world hunting down the unusual and unique. Since 1970 they have supplied other stores worldwide, although predominantly in the US and Japan. Three generations now work in this long established family business Open Daily in season.

Been going to this place for years but it is just not the same as it once was. Now they seem to be selling items at list price that you can pick up in mainstream stores. Much of the quirkiness seems to have been replace...More

You just never know what you're going to find, which is what makes this shop so much fun. It's not a trip to Ptown without a stop here.

Starting to get old, same stuff year after year, more and more expensive and so crowded that it's not much fun. Kids usually find a tee or hat or chuchkee but lots of other cool places in town.

This is a super fun store with a variety of interesting selections from T-shirts to toys- mainly with a coastal theme and Ptown vibe. We all enjoyed perusing the aisles on a busy Thursday night. I know I didn't see everything and would definitely go...More

My 14-year-old loves surplus stores, and he was in heaven in Marine Specialties! This is the place for souvenirs of the Cape, if you want something unusual, or to simply bargain shop. You'll find everything from East German military badges to Converse sneakers.

This store is Full of all sorts of odd items, from new to used. Take your time and look closely at every nook and cranny, you'll be surprised at what you could find. The largest selection of "crap" on Commercial Street. $-$$$
