Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful unique lighthouse. You really could stay as long as you would like. Beautiful area! We had so many stops I can't remember if there was a charge or not. If so not more then $ 10. This was definitely one of my favorite lighthouses

Not a huge amount to see here but if you like lighthouses it’s nice to add to your list. You can’t tour it but you can walk out the jetty on the rocks and enjoy. It was a cloudy/foggy day but still nice and able to take photos.

Such a beautiful place to take in the view. Some history behind the light house as well. If you like light houses this is a wonderful one to see.

Good location for photography. Sunset was good. Sunrise had marine layer and fog. No public bathroom and lighthouse is locked up.

Being a person who likes to climb towers, I was thrilled by the news that Scituate Lighthouse was open for climbing during my September travels. The other New England towers that I planned for my journey were Beavertail Lighthouse in Rhode Island and the War Memorial atop Mount Greylock, the highest point in Massachusetts.
Both Scituate and Beavertail towers are only open for climbing certain times of the season and I felt fortunate to be able to schedule both on a clear and warm Sunday afternoon.
The husband and wife that live in the Scituate Lighthouse are warm and friendly. I was given a tour that felt like an open house as I was welcomed into their home and given access to climb the tower independently.
The couple generously opens their doors and tower on occasion (I think monthly) to vacationers, visitors, and curiosity-seekers. They are both knowledgeable, articulate, and willing to share the history of their unique home. If I recall correctly, they did not charge admission and kindly accepted donations. It's a neat little adventure and learning experience for children, as well as adults and healthy seniors. There is ample free parking at the point and it is a nice calm area to just walk around enjoy the sun, surf, and breeze.
I would also suggest reading up on the fascinating history of Scituate Light and its upstaging brother Minot's Ledge Light. I really enjoyed my time there!

Read the information on the plaques on the seawall and building to find out about the history of the lighthouse and the keeper's family. It's a nice location to have a short walk and enjoy the salt air.

I live a few yards from this famous lighthouse and love the sense of community you feel in this little area. The lighthouse keeper blogs about life there. Children love to swim at the beach. Brides get photos there every weekend. Even when there is a storm, the townspeople want to check to see that everything is alright. This is the kind of place that makes a town feel like home.

Friends recommended we visit while in the area & I’m so glad we did. Unfortunately we weren’t there on a day when the lighthouse was open. Picture perfect location with magnificent views up and down the coast. Walk out the rocky area behind the lighthouse to get another aspect of the lighthouse.

I freqently visit this beautiful spot. Gorgeous ocean and harbor views. I often take guests there. During HERITAGE DAYS in August check out the - Luminaire near the lighthouse - the coast line is lit by candles for miles. Beautiful place to take wedding pictures. On Easter Sunday there is a sunrise service at Scituate Light, very special place. Limited parking available. Walk the jetty too.
