I met a friend here who lives in the Bronx. He was full of wonder. There were kids running around and benches filled with adults. We sat in a relatively quiet spot and watched the butterflies light upon us. The plants were very well done and lent a feeling of being in an other world on a gray day. There... More

This was a magical experience for my 6 year old daughter and I! We went on a weekday morning (very few people!) and we were both completely awed by the number of butterflies flying around. We took our time, sat on some benches, and a few butterflies landed on us, much to my daughter's delight! To our welcome surprise, they... More

Magic Wings Butterfly has a nice collection of butterflies and other critters. There are tons of butterflies flying around! We were in the area on a cold snowy day and it was a great morning activity. It was especially fun sitting still and waiting to see if a butterfly would land on you. The staff seem to like their jobs... More

Visited Magic Wings for the first time yesterday. Having been to several butterfly conservatories over the years, we were really looking forward to it. It was nice, but there weren't many butterflies - not sure if it's because it was cool, but we didn't see them hanging from the bushes either. There was an interesting area outside the conservatory with... More

This is a great place to visit and it allows you to go back in multiple times on the same day. However, it is not a huge place. If you are a photographer, you may easily spend over an hour here. Otherwise it is still good for a visit but won't last much more than an hour for most people.

I was tempted to give the Butterfly Conservatory four stars. It’s a cool place to visit and delivers what you might expect; but nothing really exceptional. I was a little frustrated that there wasn’t anything telling you what the different species were – unless you bought an identification card (a bit cheeky maybe). But full marks to the staff: They... We went to Magic Wings on a rainy New England autumn morning. The experience overall was fantastic, although there were a few negatives to our visit. We did not have a great first impression, as the young lady who worked the gift shop/ticket counter came across as quite rude. Who knows, maybe she was having a bad day, but she... More

This is a great place to visit whether you are with just adults or with children too. They have an "orientation" kind of room where there are a lot of live exhibits - some butterflies in large cases flying around and some lizards. Then you go through door and breezeway and enter through another set of doors to a jungle... More

We were pleasantly surprised by this beautiful butterfly sanctuary. It was very tastefully done, with many different types of butterflies and moths allowed to fly freely throughout the area while we walked around and tried to catch them on camera. My only regret is that we did not have our grandsons with us. They would have loved seeing all of... More

What an interesting place to visit, especially with school age children (some smaller children are afraid when the butterflies land on them, or might try to catch or touch the butterflies). Once you get used to the environment, you see more and more species - all sizes and colors. It is a unique experience, take it all in.
