A Winter Visit

How can you not visit the Norma Rockwell Museum if you're in Stockbridge. It was wonderful to see in person the illustrations you have seen all you life. Go there and be delighted.

Allow time to go through the entire museum. Although small, it is full of Norman Rockwell's wonderful works. There are great explanations of each painting next to the paintings but there is even more information you can get if you rent the headphones. Some of the people that do the tours were actual models as children in his paintings. They... More

Bite sized but fulfilling museum that showcases the breadth of the artist's work from simple rural American life vignettes to challenging depictions of civil rights era scenes. A great hour spent as we wandered through the Berkshires.

A must see with such amazing history. Norman Rockwell is so much more than most people think. Disappointing that his workshop only opens in the summer. Must see.

A nice time capsule of American history through the eyes of a gifted painter! Gallery talk by Dan was very informative as to Rockwell's eye for perfection and what went into the creation of his art. An extremely pleasant visit!!! A must stop when in the area!

A great museum to learn about American history in caricatures. This museum is in a lovely setting, great for elderly, not too tiring and just a fun experience.

Only a little over 2 hrs from lower Westchester outside NYC. Great exhibits and an opportunity to see not just the classics but some I never got a chance to see. There was a Hanna Barbera exhibit for all of you Jetsons, Bewitched, etc. fans. Great gift shop as well .

Having grown up with the Post, this was an incredible experience. The Museum is so accessible and the guided tour is a must. Our guide was so knowledgeable and entertaining. Thank you, Dan! To see Norman Rckwell's paintings in person, brings to life both his talents as an artist, but also as an observer of people and the times in... More

I visited this museum 40 years ago when it was in the center of Stockbridge. The new location is remote, which I think is too bad, but the building is very nice and the exhibits of his work were terrific. Be sure to watch the intro video. I did not like the Hanna Barbera exhibit and felt it demeaned Norman... More

Thank you for taking the time to write about your visit to the museum. When Norman Rockwell placed his work in trust to the museum he requested that we include the work of other illustrators in our exhibitions. "Hanna-Barbera: The Architects of Saturday Morning" continues the museum's mission to explore visual storytelling in its many forms. While you were here... More

My review is biased because I love Norman Rockwell's work! This museum had a great sampling (and more) of some amazing art- from hundreds of magazine covers to artifacts from his paintings, to the large actual paintings themselves....excellent video introduction helps you understand this very talented man and his vision of America- which millions of Americans were privy to....there was...
