Summer and winter paradise

One of the most beautiful and scenic areas on the Vineyard. A required spot to visit if you are spending any time on the island.

Peaceful in September. Gentle waves and pure sand. We watched the albacore jumping just off shore. Easy walk from lot.

This is one of my all time favorite beaches in the entire world. You begin by walking through the woods on this sand covered path and just when you think you are never going to find the beach you pop up over a dune and bam there's this beautiful beach. We like to go to the Black Dog Cafe and... More

Wow, great hide out, beach sand 5 stars, slight walk to beach but worth it. One of my top 10 things I did. Must go too. Not much parking so get there 45min early.

This beach is beautiful no doubt about it. You walk a very easy path that is cool and tree covered. When you come out onto the beach it feels slightly tropical in its atmosphere minus the palm trees. The only drawback is that you need a $50 pass that is only attainable if you own property in the association or... More

To the west of the public beach, accessible by boat or foot is a gorgeous sand bar just off shore of a private beach. Only a couple of small houses rarely occupied gives you a beach all to your self. Stay below the high water line and you're legal to walk or swim by

This beach is absolutely the best on the island if you have small children. It's a bit of a walk from the small parking lot if you're carting a lot of beach stuff but totally worth it. Amazing view, beautiful water. It's located in a cove so there is not much of a current and small children can play comfortably... More

We rode our bikes from Vineyard Haven to this beach - once we got off of the busy State Road, it was a quiet, winding, slightly hilly ride to the beach path entrance. It was still a long walk from the entrance to the actual beach (and the only two portapotties are at the entrance, to keep in mind), but... More

We went there, told we couldn't park because we didn't have a car sticker. I asked where we could park without a sticker, the guard said 1/2 mile down the road. We parked there and walked back. Then he wouldn't let us in because we need a beach pass ! I asked where we could get one and he said... More

To me this is the best beach on the island. It is semi private, as you need to purchase amass or sticker to park there. You have to take a walk through the woods to get there then you see the row of shoes as you get to the soft sand hill. This is the softest sand on the island.... More
