While taking a walking tour, we were fortunate to be able to see the drawbridge in action. A small boat was going through. Not much room under the draw so it is opened several times a day for small craft as well as larger vessels.

You get stopped along the main road in or out but this bridge but it's quick and fun to watch while boats glide by. Be patient and enjoy!

What a fun thing to see... one of the last manually opened drawbridges left. Great day in Woods Hole!

This is a very small drawbridge and the gates are manually opened and closed! Fun to watch and this passage is very narrow - our 20 foot wide Cat would never have made it through. Draw and Swing bridges are pretty interesting and you can...More

There is a relatively small drawbridge in Woods Hole along the main road, which crosses a narrow waterway from the open ocean into a salt water pond. There are a number of boats anchored here, with a few going out towards the ocean or returning...More

The drawbridge opens to allow boats to enter the pond, but it does not open at set times (I don't think so at least), so catching it can be tricky.

We were eating in the restaurant one the one side of it (food was lackluster and the restaurant was cold and breezy) so much for hot soup to warm up. We watched the bridge go up and the boats pass through and it sure did...More

We saw the drawbridge in action by accident while shopping in Woods Hole. It’s kind of cool to see it in action, but unless you’re fascinated by these kinds of things I wouldn’t go out of my way to see it. Still, it’s not something...More

It was fun to watch it go up and down. I think it goes on a schedule and takes a few minutes to complete.

The Main Street through Woods Hole is small and quaint, and you will pass over this narrow bridge as you travel along this route. So you cannot miss it! Enjoy your trip and adventure! I hope this info helps!
