This is right downtown, next to City Hall which also deserves a visit. The museum is small but perfect for rainy days or in between activities. It's close to restaurants and shops. The museum has original war vehicles memorabilia along with native american, lumber, early medicine, pre-cut homes, etc. It also has theatre room and a small souvenir shop.

If you are visiting the area or live here the museum is well worth a visit. Rotating exhibits keeps it fresh so there is something to see each time. The upstairs exhibits are my favorites, a picture of the man who used to own my house is featured there and I liked the model of the former Presidential yacht. Fairly... More

This museum is located on Washington Avenue in Bay City, Michigan. It is handicap accessible in the rear of building. A self-guiding tour in a historical building. As you walk through the rooms, you see how lumber, coal, the Michigan waterways, all helped to develop this area. IT shows men and women who were intregal parts of business in the... More

We spent nearly 3 hours in this free attraction, and if we had more time, it would have been longer. The theater has over 6 hours of film on demand, with various subjects. There is a small gift shop, and two stories of exhibits, most of them fascinating. Great for history buffs, and for those interested in history, logging, lumber... More

My daughter Madison and I love to walk on Center and enjoy the Architecture and Floral on Center. The Historical plaques help to keep it interesting and educate you about your walk. It is great in all four seasons. Take a look at the houses closely. There is a " Tour of homes" in early Winter still for a better... More

I'll be honest, I wasn't all that interested in a good amount of the exhibits in the museum (early Native Americans, shipping aren't my thing). However, I won't let my lack of topical interest cloud my review. The museum is nice - the displays are set up well, and the place is clean and welcoming. You can't really go wrong... More

I volunteer at the museum library. Also have been to several of the temporary and permanent exhibits. On first Saturdays they have a speaker on a topical subject. Staff and volunteers are eager to assist people in learning about Bay County in general or their particular family or property.

I have visited the Historical Museum several times. Bay City has a rich history and you will find out everything from the lumber industry to ship building and the golden days of the Wenonah Beach. It's all here and beautifully displayed.
