photos of historical people of the island, starting with the native americans and a good history of the strange happenings. the museum is not large and can be seen in as little as 15 minutes or you can spend a few hours if you read the material.

Museum is just a short walk from the ferry dock and is free. It is easy to spend a lot of time there because the exhibits are thorough and interesting. When we were there, no one else went upstairs or out to the old jail. Just talking to the old coot running the place was a hoot. By the way,... More

I wish we'd had a little more time to spend here. The rooms inside aren't large, but they contain so much of Beaver Island's quirky history. Who knew cannons had been fired, groups of people run off, kingdoms established, etc? We snapped pictures of the historical plaques so we could take the time to read them later since we had... More

Small museum presenting the island's heritage. A lot of genealogy of the island's long-time residents. Don't expect to see a printing press, I was told the actual printing press has never been found, Upstairs has some interesting items as well.

I have spent many a pleasant hour in this small museum. It houses records and photographs of the people who have called this island home...Indians, Mormons, the Irish, a king, fishermen, trappers, and farmers. It's all here folks! Plus a small bookstore offering selections related to the flora and fauna of the island...history...and song. Wonderful place!
