Visited over Christmas vacation in December 2016. Not very many people, access road was pretty icy and not maintained. Traversable with 4WD but not maintained. Not much traffic so if you got stuck you would be on your own for a while. With 2WD, you can park at the entrance by the road and walk in, or just go down... More

On the shores of Lake Michigan, northern part was a Township park and southern part a State park. In the early 1980's it merged into a State Park. Now the adjacent cement plant is trying to take over the former Township portion and give back land at the southern/inland part…thanks Gov. Snyder! Enjoy it while you can!! Great for dry... More

This is a great place for walking, camping and just viewing Lake Michigan. The park runs along the lakeshore for a mile or so. Easy walking and places to park your car too. You need a MI State Park Pass or you will pay a nominal entry fee. FYI, hunting is allowed in the fall during open season, so be... More

I was here on a very rainy and stormy weekend in October, my tents worked well though. It's close to town but the only way you can tell is the cement factory a little ways away, as this gives a constant, low mechanical hum that may take you out of the experience. The park has some nice shoreline tent spots,... More

I've heard about this place for years..and finally checked it out! I didn't camp, but sure took in the beach, views, and forest. Lovely park with great sites right on the water. Can't beat that ammenity, along with most having some good privacy between sites. It was almost full during my mid-late week visit. Its very popular. In summer, good... More

It was nice to not be the only tent campers somewhere :) This camp is unique because they offer beachfront campsites! How awesome to set up right on the lakeshore.....and I mean directly on it. We were not fortunate enough to reserve one of these, but still enjoyed our time collecting Petoskey stones on the beach. As for the water,... More

Lots of camping located on Lake Michigan. A beautiful state park with sand beach for fun making sand castles or just relaxing at the waters edge.

My husband and I reserved a campsite for 3 days over Labor Day weekend. With neither of us being new to camping, we were so excited to experience rustic camping in a park that came so highly recommended. We left a day early, and here's why: - The park is *very* close to a cement factory. Despite camping on site... More
