Parking at a lot in the area is hourly but not too expensive. The waterfront is beautiful and kids can enjoy running through the water foundations. Most buildings are open and have restroom access. The RenCen, for example, has a couple places open like a...More

The Detroit River riverfront was once totally industrial, with silos, factories, docks, and warehouses, and it was cut off for the vast majority of the people. Although it is not totally complete, the Riverwalk has opened up the river to everyone, and that is exactly...More

This is an excellent outdoor venue and worth the investment that the city of Detroit made. Great place to walk!

We walked from downtown to the GMRenCen along the RiverFront. It is a great way to view Windsor and to see some of the sculptures along the walk.

The Detroit RiverFront is an excellent place for an early morning power walk. When the air is crisp in the spring/fall/early winter, or sultry in the summer. You will see interesting people from Detroit, all over the world.

Lots to see and do downtown especially during the nice summer months . If you have children the splash fountain is a nice place to keep cool. Wear comfortable shoes with it being downtown parking is limited be prepared to walk.

It's as safe as any city. You need to always be aware of your surroundings, travel in groups if possible and always in well lit areas. We never felt there was a reason to think it was unsafe.
