We had not heard of Pewabic pottery until we visited the DIA but we loved what we saw so went to the pottery itself. The staff were very helpful and showed us round the pottery which is still in everyday use. There is a small museum exhibition upstairs and there are two galleries with pots for sale: one from the... Beginning at the start of the 20th C., Pewabic pottery is in the arts and crafts style. I personally like a&c and have come several times over the years. However, in order to survive, I think they should start to incorporate some newer designs and more approachable entry level pricing. They do have an area where they display and sell... More

I came here on Sunday afternoon just 15 minutes before they closed. I wasn't able to explore the full place though what I did was pretty good! The ceramics and pottery are beautiful! And the history behind them is cool! It's a nice quaint dwelling! I would like to come back to explore more and maybe take a tour or... More

We went as a group on a tour of the building and to create a tile. It was wonderful and a great experience. So much to the art and so much to the building historically.

Went on a tour today with several of my 'Senior Citizen' friends. ALETHEA was our guide and art teacher. Yes I said - 'Art Teacher' , as not only did she give an awesome tour loaded with information about the Pewabic, she also instructed us in creating our own Pewabic tiles. Our imaginations and craftsmanship was enjoyed by all. Who... More

Went with a business group. Loved the history and had a great time making our own tiles. It helped me appreciate pews if tile installations that we saw around town.

When guests come to Detroit, I always take those who love shopping to Pewabic. It's part craft museum/part gift shop and the selection is unique. I'm particularly fond of the tiles, which spruce up a bath or kitchen. For those on a budget, the student sales area offers some inexpensive but lovely work.

Wonderful ceramic tile company located in the city of Detroit. Very unique designs and character to their creations. Used in numerous historic and corporate locations, as well as our kitchen. If you are planning to remodel a room or house, check them out for something historic and different. You can become a member and attend cool events held at the... More

Pewabic tile is unmatched. A tour of the facility is a definite for your bucket list. In business for decades, still the master of some of the most unique & beautiful tile to be found anywhere.

Was looking forward to this being the pinnacle of our trip to Detroit. As an architect, I have used Pewabic tile in many projects I have designed. Wanted to look around and just speak so someone who would give me more information on the facility. Was so excited to be there...Instead I arrived with my children and wife to a... More
