There are 10 floors here, so be prepared for walking. Be sure to either pay to park in the garage or pay for the meters on the street. It starts at $25. There are elevators and stairs between all levels. There is a security guard that drives around. There are also bathrooms inside the exit on opposite side of building on main level. There is also "tiny car parking" on of the higher levels, and there are electric car charging spaces.

We were admiring some of the street art in the alleyway known as 'The Belt' when it was pointed out to us that the two interconnected parking lots either side of us were themselves full of street art, with several different pieces on the end walls of each level of these two, ten-storey structures. We took a lift up to the top floor, where we were first able to admire some good 360 degree views of the city before walking down the ramps, checking out the many different murals as we went. It's a nice idea which brightens up otherwise dreary public spaces and if you're a fan of street art and have a bit of time to kill, it's a novel experience to stroll through the lot checking things out.

I have parked many time at the Z, with no problems. Anyway, I could not get a hold of anyone on the phone to check their Christmas parking rates, since most times there is a $10 charge. I figured it would be at least $10 to park on this holiday - WRONG... It turned out to be $25 to park for 3 hours on Christmas - 2 pm to 5 pm. And I passed many empty parking lots to get to this place.I will be more careful parking here, and probably take my business elsewhere if I can

The Z-Lot and it's adjoining alley, know as the Belt is a great place in Detroit to enjoy a wealth of public art, something the city has a lot of. Both the Z-Lot and the Belt Alley contain a wide range of artwork, from artists around the globe. A lot of it is quite edgy, fun and colorful. This is one of those unusual places I enjoy visiting in cities. The Belt Alley also has an outdoor bar called the Skip. The Z-Garage has artwork on all it's floors and you don't have to park there to see it.

The view from the top of this parking lot is awesome. You get an amazing view for free. You can see many city sites from here. It is a must see point for great pictures.
