This was a nice trail. We stayed on the easier loop and did not go past the opening of the woods at the dunes. Dogs are allowed on the trail, but not allowed on the dunes. That was kind of a bummer for our group.

This is a 2.3 mile loop hike near the Platte River section of Sleeping Bear Dunes on M22. There are 2 loops. We did the outer loop - the Black Arrow. The Green Arrow is supposed to be flatter, goes through the center. There's a scenic lookout that you have to climb a dune to see. Then it's .2 miles... More

Have done this trail in all seasons including snowshoeing it. It's a nice walk through the woods before it opens up to wide skies and Lake Michigan. There are a couple variations to this hike- you can take the 2 mile roundtrip or 5 mile.

Easy walking trail through the woods and continuing on to Lake Michigan. Good any time of year...snowshoeing would be good on this terrain.

This trail is two square separate trails (short and longer). It has interesting enough flora to keep even a botanist interested but flat enough for even the physically challenged. The hardwood forest and ponds make it a quiet respite from the world. Lake Michigan is adjacent to the trail so a beach walk is an additional option. I highly recommend... More

We were up late the night before and wanted a relatively easy hike before we drove home. The sand dunes were a challenge (walking through sand usually is,) but a beautiful view at the top. Wish we had brought suits. The beach is nearly private. Lots of Mosquitos & I forgot the bug spray. We can check one trail off... More

Nice easy hike through woods to the sand. The sand is challenging to walk thru and there are a few small hills in the sand but, this larger girl did it and the nice secluded beach for miles and miles at the end is worth the hike! Husband and I recommend this!

This is a nice trail, but it is very short. The nice thing is that it is a loop and you don't have to walk the same way back as you came. Not very challenging, but like I said, very beautiful. I heard that it can be very full of mosquitoes, but didn't experience that myself.

This was my "go to" hike..when things got too stressful or I needed to get away this was the one path I would hike out on. It was easy to hike & i always enjoyed the views. Easily accessible & doable.
