One of the most beautiful walks in the world

Amazing views of Lake Michigan and Sleeping Bear dunes, from a fairly easy trail that is well marked.

We hiked this trail with a bit of snow but there were no issues. Easy up hill climb and really a stunning overlook of the shore line. We were alone most of the hike. At the end of the trail there is room to explore the vegetation and multiple views.

This was a beautiful walk along the .75 mile trail, and once you get to the end, you will not want to leave, so calm and peaceful

A short, not very strenuous hike to a great overlook. There is a brief climb in the middle of the hike. Stick with it, you will be rewarded with a bench to rest on while you enjoy the beautiful view.

This is a lovely 1.5-mile out and back hike. It begins with a bit of a climb through a lush forest setting, steps cut for the steepest parts and then opens out to a narrow sandy trail along the edge of steep dunes overlooking Lake Michigan. There are great views along the shore to the north and south, and the... More

We had a great time on this walk with our 19 month old. 1.5 miles round trip, and our little guy made it all the way it to the lake on his own. He probably could have walked back to the car too if we had the extra time. The trail is well maintained and shady most of the way.... More

This trail was a little out of the way but well worth it. Parking was easy and the trail was fairly easy to walk. There were steps and it was a good length. The view was awesome.

It has been many years since I walked up this trail through a 100 year old forest to the top of a high sand dune hundreds of feet above Lake Michigan. Along the way the trees allow only patches of sky to be visible. The view from the top of the trail is gorgeous and well worth the 20 minutes... More

Go to visitor's center and pay admission. The receipt must be displayed on driver's dashboard. There are some hills and stairs to climb but the views are breathtaking. Probably my favorite trail I have walked so far at Sleeping Bear Dunes. Mostly shaded trail until you arrive above the lake with incredible views. Just love this trail.
