Dated and cruel. This zoo is sad joke and testament to the "Suburban Bias" that epitomizes West Michigan.

We are sorry you feel this way. We work to continually update exhibits, provide enrichment to the animals, bring conservation education to our guests, while providing opportunities for people from all socioeconomic groups to enjoy the John Ball Zoo.
I hadn't been to JB Zoo since I accompanied my now 30 year old daughter on a school field trip. Got to experience it again as a grandmother this past summer, and wow what a treasure it is to have this so close by. It...More
It's not as big as a major metropolitan zoo, but still good size. The animals appear well-cared for and have lots of space to roam. The management has expanded the outdoor exhibits over the years with the help of local donors. If you have kids...More
This was my first time to the John Ball Zoo. I have been to many other zoos and, I must say, I liked this one very well. If you need exercise, it has nice hills and stairs for you to climb. It has many beautiful...More

What I really liked about the zoo is the setting. It's like visiting a forest with the animals interspersed throughout. This isn't your typical concrete zoo. The setting is beautiful. You are really close to the animals. Of course you are safe. The tigers came...More
We took our two grandchildren ages 1& 3 to the zoo with my sister, brother-in-law, and their granddaughter. It was a great place to meet and spend the day with family. We got to see the penguins get fed, and pet some animals in the...More
