Starting at Calumet there are two paved ways to get to Copper Harbor by car, lots more gravel roads and trails if you have a truck or SUV. The first is to turn off US 41 at Ahmeek and take the county road that leaves from the southeast corner of town. This goes towards the lake and follows it to... More

You must take this drive! What views along the way. Take in Eagle River, Eagle Harbor and don't miss Brockway Mountain Drive!

A visit to Fort Wilkins State Park is a must for the history buff. On the park grounds is the reconstructed fort with knowledgeable actors in period costume. Copper Harbor and area lighthouses are wonderful places to visit.

I'm presuming that the trail here is the highway from the Houghton-Hancock area up to Copper Harbor. Having lived in Houghton for almost two decades now, I've driven up to Copper Harbor many, many times, and it never gets old. It's a beautiful area. I especially like the last part of the trip, what I call The Green Tunnel, up... More

Loved the views of the lake, the coves and little parks, the pebbly beach in Eagle River, the waterfalls. Stop by the Jam Pot and get some monk-cooked breads and cupcakes. A very popular spot! Most importantly, take the Brockway Mountain Drive for a breathtaking view of the entire area - but not for those who suffer from a fear... More

This is a chance to be in gods country! The trails are usually pretty good although we had some miles of extremely bad moguls this year fortunately it didn't last long and for the amount of snow that was there at the time it was somewhat expected. We rode around 400 miles there and maybe 30-40 miles were rough so... More

Always loved the drive from Calumet to Copper Harbor. Plenty of places to stop and explore, waterfall, museums, Jampot (LOVE), etc.

We drove up twice during our trip. The first time is was foggy, and you really couldnt see anything. However, the second time the skies were clear, and it was beautiful. Make sure to take the road to Brockway Mountain, because they are the best views of Copper Harbor.
