It was a picture perfect Saturday as I drove my grandchildren and niece to Harbor Beach. They know I love lighthouses and they agreed to accompany me to see this light as well as learn the history of this quaint town. I went online and booked our tour which is only on Saturdays weather permitting through the summer and into... More

This lighthouse is a sparkplug design that sits at the end of one of the breakwaters in Harbor Beach lakefront. There are tours to the Lighthouse but only on Saturdays until 1pm and are usually sold out. The view from the beach and marina are pretty good, the view at the end of the almost-1-mile long Breakwater are even better.

We went when the lighthouse wasn't open for tours. Followed directions to see from fishing pier and where tours leave. A lousy place to view as that marina plus the nearby power plant give a bad impression. We went to Harbor Beach Park and had a great view and walked on a nice pier.

Every Saturday, visitors and locals have a great opportunity to take a boat cruise out to the Harbor Beach Lighthouse which is located one mile out in Lake Huron. This lighthouse has been beautifully restored and is a wonderful example of how life on the Great Lakes was for early lightkeepers. The Lighthouse has been restored and furnished to its... More

The lighthouse tours (from the marina) were not operating on the day we were here (Monday). So we drove to Lincoln Park (a nice park with a stretch of sandy beach, picnic tables, and restrooms) to photograph the lighthouse. If you are unable to catch a lighthouse boat tour, this is probably the best spot to view the Harbor Beach... More

Be sure to book your lighthouse tour early. We tried the day before our visit and the online site said it was booked. We called a couple of phone numbers and found there had been a cancellation. The tour starts with a 10 minute boat ride to the lighthouse. Each level in the lighthouse had a tour guide that explained... More

July 18, 2015 marked the 130th Birthday of the Harbor Beach Lighthouse and the day was filled with celebratory events. Tours of the lighthouse through out the day, a quilt show, guest speakers, a parade, musical entertainment and a wonderful dinner to cap off the celebration. A tour of the lighthouse begins with a 10 minute water trip by launch... More

The Harbor Beach Lighthouse tours were fantastic. We took a boat ride out to the lighthouse and the tour guides were very kind, cheerful, and full of historical knowledge. They love the history of the lighthouse and are dedicated to giving those taking the tour a brilliant experience. The lighthouse has been fully restored, and is filled with antiques and... More

If you go to Harbor Beach, go to Lincoln Park, it was a beautiful walk way out on to the water, you can watch a wonderful sunrise, we watched sunset there. There is a wonderful lady named Nancy Rose, she walks there everyday at sunrise as sunset, she knows lots about the area and can tell you about anything there.... More

A dozen of my family visited the lighthouse on Saturday - what a great experience. The tours only operate on Saturday out of the Marina in town. The lighthouse is on the breakwall a mile out in the harbor, and cannot be accessed from land. The boat ride out is quick but lovely. The volunteers stationed at each floor of... More
