We cross country skied here. The warming building is absolutely wonderful, fire place, lots of nice tables to sit at. Clean bathrooms that are indoors. We loved the ski trails. They were groomed for classic and skating. I would consider them to be mostly intermediate, was a little hilly but not extreme. The trails had nice mix of terrain with... More

On the north side of US41, just "below" the woods trails at the top of a hill on the sourth side of US41 is a parking area right next to a bridge. It's just a gravelly open area. We park there, easily find an entry to the boardwalk. You go down a few steps, then follow a meandering boardwalk along... More

Such a cool nature park. They are located near the animal shelter and I'd encourage you to walk a little pupper when you visit. It'll make your hike a bit more exciting. See you on the trails!

I haven't been through the entire Nara Nature Park but I have walked on one of the trails and am happy to have "another" place in Houghton to walk. There are trails on both side of US 41. There is a place to park your car or bike and then walk the trails.

We had an enjoyable walk, taking the path to the right. The wild roses were beautiful. A good place to stretch your legs!

This is a very large system of trails running through and around Michigan Tech University in Houghton, Michigan. The trails are extremely well-maintained and beautiful. It's quiet and lovely. There's a stream/river running through the area, and you can walk right down to it and wade in areas where it's slower. Some of the vistas are simply breath-taking. There's also... More

This park is great for a stroll or a picnic. The boardwalk makes it very accessible. It is surpizingly extensive. You can see wetland plants and fish in Pilgrim Creek.

I was here to meet some local boy scouts to discuss forestry for their forestry badges and brought my kids. We walked on the nicely packed and groomed trails out to the sled hill. It was groomed and fast and fun for all the kids. The Nordic trails are expertly groomed, have nice scenery and terrain and link to the... More

How ever you like your winter, NARA has a great spot for you to engage! When your too cold, come in and warm up. Located right next to the animal shelter, this large, well marked trail system has miles of well groomed paths. There is a warming house with bathrooms and a good waxing area. There is a nice sledding... More

Great wide trails made for great hiking/jogging through beautiful woods. I would love to come back and ski these trails.
