Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Another visit, beautiful afternoon tea - everything home made to the highest standard, scones still warm from the oven. I don't know anywhere else locally where the quality is this high. BTW if you miss garnish on your sandwich (see review below) just reach out and pick some!

Haven’t been for ages as we weren’t such if it was still open.
Anyhow we both went for a ham sandwich and cup of soup - staff members taking orders - one very good and one average.
The food was good but considering the setting I would have expected some garnish on the sandwich or on the side - looked a little like lacking in colour.
Anyhow pear juice was nice - but a bottle rather than 2 glasses as it’s the same price and you get much more. (That also could have come with ice).
I absolutely would return and improvement areas are super simple to fix.

This little gem is an amazing find!
I visited here on a gorgeous autumn day so was able to sit outside in the garden to eat. There is also an indoor cafe should the weather not be so great. The gardens themselves are beautiful and if you like gardening then you will love walking around it and discovering the plants it holds. Entry is free.
The food is all homecooked using produce from the garden. I had a delicious quiche and variety of salads which was gorgeous. I topped this off with a delicious slice of ginger and rhubarb sponge which was superb.
The team here are very friendly and you are made to feel very welcome. Although it's a bit off the beaten track, it is most definitely worth it! I shall definitely back and would recommend anyone to pay them a visit.

We had my daughters Baby Shower here in the cottage. The ladies were very accommodating and attentive. The afternoon tea was really lovely, with lots of variety of lovely little cakes and fresh sandwiches. They made sure we had plenty of tea and coffee and nothing was to much trouble. Will certainly be coming back for more of the lovely cakes. Thank you ladies.

This is a small scale business and at its best is absolutely charming and a genuine slice of wonderful traditional England. Those shrivelled and cold miserable souls who have given this place low ratings can only have been unlucky, I urge them to try again on a warm day in May onwards. The immaculate gardens will be in full throttled productive growth and if you are very privileged the cafe will be open selling the best home made cakes and light lunches - they even make delicious GF cakes. Please drive on through Eccleshall once in a while and the extra 5 minutes will reward you manifold.
If there is an event on you might have to be patient, just chill and enjoy the setting.

After reading reviews on another media we decided to visit but we're very disappointed ..we arrived just before 11am..tea rooms were shut even though the website suggested 10am opening??
There isn't much to look at apart from lots of apple trees that line the square garden which is OK if you like looking at apple trees ..sorry not for me!

Just returned from a lovely afternoon tea which consisted of a varied selection of finger sandwiches , cheese and pickle, smoked salmon with cream cheese, ham, egg and cress and tuna together with a selection of beautiful cakes and biscuits and fancies followed by trifle and cream scones all beautifully presented and the staff were lovely , friendly helpful and nothing was too much trouble .. we reserved our table as Mothers day weekend and sat outside admiring the beautiful gardens you can walk around afterwards

A group of 12 of us had afternoon tea in the Peach House at Sugnall Walled Garden and the service was impeccable. Nothing was too much trouble. The ladies were so lovely and had a great sense of humour.

The afternoon tea was beautifully presented and delicious.

10/10 would recommend and all of our party will be going back again soon.
