The Ottawa National Forest provides a myriad of year-round recreation opportunities for every age. It offers places to go camping, fishing, boating/canoeing/kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, Off-Road Vehicle mudding, mountain biking, sight seeing, birding, hunting, snowmobiling, cross-country and downhill skiing. There are many spectacular waterfalls along the Black River, the Sylvania Wilderness and the North Country National Scenic Trail.

Ottawa National Forest is a really nice place. It's very clean and kept up. There's a lot of cool things to see here like Black River Harbor.

I do not often rate anything as a perfect five but this is a place that is absolutely breathtaking. My wife and I visited this place and we cherished every moment that we had. The falls are so remarkable and there is one right after the other. We will be back!!

The ones that we used on the Black River Falls were in great condition. The forest was clean, with a lack of litter. It was pleasurable hiking. Many,... More

The "Falls" are so very amazing at Ottawa National Forest, I would highly recommend them to people who love to walk to see the Beauty that surrounds the U.P. Those memories of Water rushing so freely are memories I will forever cherish.

It's nice to get away and just relax and enjoy nature. Great place for a single, couple, or family looking to get back to nature.

Very beautiful and worth a visit if in the area. You can also drive by the Copper Peak on your way and spot the peak itself on the way out.

Both Gorge and Potawatomi falls have nice parking lots and are right next to each other. You can walk down to Potawatomi falls and follow the trail down to Gorge falls, or come back to the parking lot and drive over to the next parking lot. Potawatomi falls are bigger, with two separate falls and a fantastic view. Travel down... More
