We love this beach and Leland. We visit several times a year to swim and rock hunt. You will find lots of Petoskey stones and Leland blue. Be sure to get lunch at the Cheese Shanty (cash only!) and enjoy it on the beach. There...More

Leland Blue is the local stone that people use to make jewelry. I wanted to find some so I did what was suggested by another TripAdvisor review - I brought water sandals (VERY rocky shoreline), a bucket and a strainer. I also went early in...More

Looked for a place to hunt petoskeys with my elderly mother. This was perfect! Narrow strip of level sand with lots of rocks. Small hill down to beach, but not too bad. Small parking lot so arrive early. Clean porta-johns or stop at the ferry terminal...More

I grew up vacationing on this beach and now live here. It remains my hands down favorite beach to spend the day in all of Leelanau and Grand Traverse County. Whether you enter near Vans (more crowded - closer to harbor, breakwall and barrel jumping)...More

We were walking around fishtown in Leland, and asked a local where we could walk the beach, she told us to go basically around the corner, "past Van's garage and straight down the road." We took a short stroll to the beach and then saw...More

Located close to the heart of Leland village, this is a great place to hunt for stones or just walk off that tasty lunch. One of our group actually went swimming, making a total of two people in the water that sunny day in June...More
