Just loved strolling thru this house. Attendant was very friendly and knowledgeable. She answered all our questions, and suggested other stops for us. The home and outside area was very well maintained. Suggested you all take time to visit.

Not much different in this home compared to other colonial homes. Plan about 15 minutes to view everything.

It was our first visit to this museum and we were glad we stopped. Admittance is free will donation. They have many interesting displays that show the history of the island and how the people lived.

Very interesting history of Mackinac Island. The docent has lived on the island most of her life and has many stories about life on an island with a population of around 500 people and NO automobiles, except for a police SUV and an ambulance.

I didn't think my 7 yr old would like it but he really did. You learn a lot about the island and it's all donation. The lady running the desk was a retired "local" teacher and wonderful to talk to! Very very nice! She answered all the questions about the island we were curious about. Yes...the kids there DO have... More

Great old building and some good displays. Enjoyed the museums and art galleries on Mackinac. There is a lot of history in this town.

It's a small museum, off the main drag of Mackinac Island. The volunteer working was a bit stiff and appeared to have come in on her day off. It's an informative museum, but hardly memorable.

The prints were the highlight for me. There were some rare great lakes cruise ship pieces that are worth seeing!
