Our men's book group decided to meet on this ship because the books being discussed were of a nautical nature. The volunteers who guided us through the ship were very knowledgeable about the boat and the shipping history on the great lakes. There is a lot of steps and stairs so it is not handicap accessible.

The stay on the SS City of Milwaukee was a lot of fun. We stayed in the 4 Boys room with a bunk for each of us. Beds were very comfortable. A safety rail on the bunks for kids would be amazing(although we understand it would likely need to be custom). The kids had a ton of fun. The weather was great. And there were a ton of board games to play. The kids had fun running around (we did get scolded for kids running). That is a little difficult for kids to hold all the energy in. Especially when it’s so beautiful outside. Overall, we had a great experience. And the kids had a great experience. Highly recommend. We plan to go again.

First time here and they turn it into a haunted ship. We took a group of 8 early october, it was a lot of fun. The line wasn't too long, I heard it gets longer closer to Halloween. This was a fun trip now I need to go back and see it in the light and get a normal tour.

My father-in-law was stationed aboard the Acacia. It was well worth the drive from Cleveland, OH for a visit. We spent the night on the Milwaukee. I would recommend adding this adventure to your bucket list. The Milwaukee is 87 years old and well worth the visit. Keep in mind, she is a museum. So if spending the night, this is not a high-end hotel. This is a B&B. Touring this ship one can only try an grasp this vessel hauling 30-32 loaded rail car. The Acacia is a Coast Guard ship my 87 year-old father-in-law served aboard. He spent hours walking this vessel. The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable and make every attempt to make your visit comfortable.

Thank you for the kind words. It is always a treat for the staff to meet with former crew or their descendants of either ship. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again.
