My spouse and I spent one of the most relaxing days in our getaway right here. For free. California should have city-close beaches so broad, beautiful, and CLEAN. We walked here from the inn where we were staying (The Dempsey Manor B&B, which is the finest lodging in town bar none) and brought all the beach gear we needed and... More

Wish we had planned to stop longer here as it all looked so inviting but we were touring around but I`ve no doubt we will return to this area as it has everything.

You don't even have to pack a cooler, they have a snack bar with everything. You could spend all day here. Beach, basketball, tennis, bands at night. Definitely my favorite place.

Lots of clean sand, nice pavilion with snacks to buy, changing rooms and a walk down boardwalk almost to the water, no trudging thru the sand carrying your stuff.

Huge sandy beach with slides and swings for the kids. There's a pavilion where u can buy food, drinks, and ice cream. Water is crystal clear, beautiful sunsets.

We enjoyed this beach a lot with my 10&12 year olds. Sandy water, no rocks hurting your feet. Snack bar had great ice cream. Nice views of the light house and river too.

There were 2 beaches there, we went to the beach further south. It was good sized, no fee to park or to use the beach. Seemed very popular as there were a lot of people there. Restrooms were clean, snack bar and eating area were also clean, food was good and fairly reasonably priced. Also had a play area (tall... More

It was a very hot day in Michigan and we needed to cool off. We went here as our good to. Lake Michigan is warm and refreshing. We had a great day doing beach things and just swimming. The thing is, it was free. No paying for parking, not crowded, and there was a beach net to play volleyball.

This beautiful beach is on the south side of the Manistee River channel, so there's no direct access to the North Pierhead Lighthouse that's located on the other side of the channel. But there's plenty of things for kids to do, numerous covered picnic shelters, a modern bath house with restrooms and a concession stand, and a wide, sandy beach... More
