Great for kites and stars

We visited with out 9 and 4 year old. Loved the lighthouse and found that flying kites was an added bonus and blast. Returned at night to see the stars w/o light pollution.

Nice climb to the top of the lighthouse for beautiful views. Also a nice walk along the beach. Make sure you go on a sunny day!

This is a very picturesque spot. The dunes rise up in every direction around the lighthouse making for same great photo opportunities. There is a nice, sandy beach in front of the lighthouse, but there is not a long expanse of beach for taking a stroll along Lake Michigan. This is a popular sunset destination.

Point Sable Lighthouse is a must see when in the Mears, MI area. It is the tallest lighthouse along Lake Michigan, and yes, IT IS TALL!!! An absolutely beautiful lighthouse located along the dunes and there is also a beach to go swimming. A great place to take some pictures A lot of fun for the kids to climb the... More

This is in a state park so there is a entrance fee. If you like you can clime the 132 steps to the top of the lighthouse. The $5 donation that goes to the group's of volunteers that maintain the lighthouse's in the area.

According to the sign it is 1.8 miles to the light (X2) but is well worth it. Beautiful walk and great view from top. Always enjoy the enthusiasm of the volunteers. They seem to enjoy what they do and it shows. Allow a couple hours or so and enjoy another beautiful lighthouse in scenic MI.

We went here to see the lighthouse. Definitely did not disappoint. It was an admission fee of $11 if you did not have the P sticker for Michigan parks. The fee to climb the lighthouse was $5. To buy the ticket we went to a little RV off to the side where they also had a small gift shop. The... More

Fun little outing. The beach is beautiful and the condition of the lighthouse is amazing. It costs $5 to climb up to the top of the lighthouse and the husbands did it because they really wanted to see the original lens in the light. Fit Bit says it is 4 flights up!
