Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Indosan Nippon Japanese Temple is nicely carved out of wood and it looks very much like a Japanese temple. it is one of the most popular temples of Bodh Gaya. It showcases Japanese paintings that depict important events of Buddha's life. Peaceful atmosphere and well-maintained.

Indosan Nippon Japanese Temple is situated on Buddha Road, Bodh Gaya town, Bihar ( It has been wrongly mentioned by trip adviser team that this temple is 15 km from Bodh Gaya Center. In fact it is 15 kms away from Gaya Town which is different from Bodhgaya Town,)
This temple is an outstanding example of the Japanese architecture and deep rooted Buddhist preaching. This Temple has been carved out from wood with Buddhist preaching and looks like a Japanese shrine. It has many exquisite Japanese paintings narrating events form the life of Gautam Buddha. Constructed in 1972, it is one of the most well maintained temples.
It is among the most frequented shrines of the region. As an initiative to preserve and spread Buddhism and Buddha’s preaching, the Japanese have funded this shrine.
Nearby attractions include Great Buddha Statue, Chinese temple, Bodhi tree, Mahabodhi Temple, and Tibetan Monaster.
Open in morning and evening hours, it has no entry fee. Photography is permitted.

This temple adds another beauty to the international landscape of Buddhism in Budh Gaya. It is situated not far from the giant Buddha statue.Enter the temple premises and you will be invited to a temple located in real time in Japan. They have given it such a Japanese look. The plants are Japanese, architecture is truly Japanese with characteristic Japanese monastery roof that is bent upwards at the end. There is a nice little stupa that is also typical Japanese. A bell is there housed in a Japanese type small hut. Do not miss this zen temple of which the aura is so strong, The aura is further strengthened by entering in to the shrine room. All credits to the builders for creating this Japanese corner in India. A definite must visit to any visitor to Budhgaya.

T his is very Japanese ZEN Buddhism design of architecture ,which is very uncommon outside japan. The first thing you wonder is the design so different from other monasteries.
the inside is very golden as lots of gold is used.it is big with a beautiful ZEN garden[minimalistic design with focus on some attribute of nature].
it is must see as it is[such a design] not anywhere else in India

Built in the Mahayana style, this temple stands out among those from South- and South-East-Asian Theravada temples. Quite, off the main road. A good place to sit and think.

This temple is cooperatively in a serene and quiet place. One will realise the famous proverb that cleanliness is Godliness after seeing this temple. Aroma of incense will take you to other world. I will suggest that one should not miss this temple while visiting Bodh Gaya.

What denomination of Buddhism is this temple.
Written 6 August 2018
It was not mentioned anywhere, and I did not take any guide either, nor asked the monk there. It’s a tranquil place with natural gardens around it, runs a school for local children and of course allows people to pray sitting inside the temple. I am not a Buddhist but faith but felt a serene attraction of the supreme soul in all temples of Bodhgaya.
