We did a 2-day trek with camping during the rainy season. They usually advice the homestay in this season, but since weather was nice and we agreed to cross the river by foot, they allowed us to have a camping trip. The trip started at the morning market, where we could see all kinds of plants we didn’t know. We showed our curiosity to Tua, our guide, and he not only explained in very good english, but also looked for some of these plants in the jungle to cook them on the campfire so we could taste them. During the trek, our guides prepared crazy delicious meals, using everything they could find in the jungle. Tua explained a lot about the plants, the farming and gave us a survival for dummies class. The jungle camp has a rain-proof roof so that we could stay dry all night, but they told us that during the dry season, you can also choose to build your camp from scratch.

The office of discovering Laos is very friendly and also helped after our trek to find a bus. Since it’s low season, not all buses go everyday so he woke up early to call the bus stations and reserve seats for us, ensuring we had the best route to Nong Khiaw.

Thank you so much for this great experience!

We did a 1 day cycling tour through Luang Namtha Valley with Discovering Laos. We visited several villages of ethnic minorities in the area as well as a stupa and handicraft centre. Our guide was very knowledgable and spoke English very well. He told a lot of stories about all the ethnic groups and villages and could answer all our questions. Having a guide on this cycling trip is definitely worth it, because of all the inside information you get and you will not get lost haha! I definitely recommend doing this trip when you want to learn more about the different ethnic groups while being active on a bicycle!

mazing. My partner and I did the 3 day trek (1 night camping, 1 night home stay) and we couldn’t flaw it. Our two guides Keo and Seyong were incredible. So funny, informative, and so skilled. They absolutely made the trip. The food they and the village cooked was absolutely delicious too!! Would 100% do this trek again in a heartbeat. The company are lovely. The actual trekking was quite challenging (coming from someone who isn’t particularly active) but a lot of this was due to the heat at this time of year, but nevertheless, so rewarding and enjoyable.

We chose to do the 2 day 1 night kayaking / trekking experience with an overnight stay at the village. It was honestly amazing and our guides Xai and Siyong worked so hard and truly made our experience special. It was one of our most memorable trips in Laos, the jungle and nature was amazing. We got given plenty of food, the beds were comfortable and had mosquito nets in the evening, and we were provided with all the necessary gear for safety etc. There are a lot of tour companies in Luang Namtha but this one for us was fantastic - highly recommend!

Vanxai helped us to organize our stay in Luang Namtha considering our desires, our budget, and the possible options in dry season. We visited the morning market, very nice and colorful. Then we spent a very good day kayaking on the Namtha River, which runs along the ZNP. The jungle on the right bank is impressive. In dry season it is an easy course, the water is calm, we paddled 18km. Our guides were very friendly, the meal in front of the fire at the edge of the river was delicious. We were able to visit or see the local villages, and met some fishermen or locals who were spending time at the water's edge. I highly recommend Laos Discovery for kayaking in Luang Namtha.

Great experience

We took a private 3D2N trip together with our 2 kids (8+10). Guides were really competent and committed. Food was typical Lao style.
We stayed 1 night in the jungle in a basic hut and 1 night was homestay. Both were extraordinary. Don’t expect comfort and luxury, but a true experience in beautiful nature with great people.
Our kids love to play with other kids in the village and also like a lot the hiking itself.
Be sure to take enough warm clothes when doing a hike in January.

We did a 2D/1N bushcraft trekking and it was simply amazing. Sai and Sijong were our guides and they were lovely, funny and caring. We built our own banana leaf hut and learned a lot about the jungle. The whole thing was organized very smooth and all against a fair price, so I would highly recommend this place!
