Machapuchare means Fishtail mountain. It is only one holy mountain in Nepal. Its hight is 6993m. I highly recommand to do trekking of Near Fishtail like as Mardi himal trek, Machapuchare model trek, and Annapurna base camp trek.

Machapuchare mountain is one of Nepal’s most sacred mountains.  Nicknamed ‘fish tail mountain’ after the shape of its peak, Machapuchare is sacred in the Hindu religion as the home of Lord Shiva.

Machapuchare is at the give up of a long spur ridge, coming south out of the essential spine of the Annapurna Himalayas, which types the Japanese boundary of the Annapurna Sanctuary and Machhapuchhre is two hours earlier than Annapurna base camp is well-known for trekkers. This is a unique trek on the foothill of the Annapurna south specially designed for those who love to enjoy the flora and fauna, panoramic view of the Himalayan range in a blissful way along with Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail and different Himalayan ranges which are arranged almost exactly in a circle about 10 miles in diameter with a deep glacier-covered amphitheater at the center. Due to its southern role in the range, and the in particular low terrain that lies south of the Annapurna Himalayas, Machapuchare commands exquisite vertical relief in a short horizontal distance. This, blended with its steep, pointed profile, make it a in particular putting peak, regardless of a decrease elevation than some of its neighbors. The Sanctuary is a favored trekking destination, and the web site of the base camps for the South Face of Annapurna and for severa smaller objectives. Its double summit resembles the tail of a fish, as a result the title meaning "fish's tail" in Nepalese. It is also nicknamed the "Nepalese Matterhorn".

The holy mountain Machapuchhre is called in English Fishtail. Its height 6993m from sea level. It is holy mountain so we can't get any permit ffrom climbing Nepal government . If anybody want to go base camp, it takes minimum one week go and back from Pokhara. I visited many times since 1995 in my trekking guide period.

We got to see many magnificent views of this impressive peak during our four days trekking in the Annapurna Conservation Area, with the best being in the early evening as the sun set.
The two photos attached were taken just seventeen minutes apart!

I never get tired of seeing this magnificent mountain. You can see it from much of the town of Pokhara, but go up to Sarangkot or for a better view if you aren't going trekking on that side.

Machapuchare, “Fish Tail Mountain” from the Annapurna base camp .This majestic peak in the Himalayas is at 22,943 feet .Fish Tail Mountain is a sacred peak in the Hindu religion, associated with the god Shiva. Lord Shiva is supposed to live on the peak, which evidently gets is name from the shape of the summit .Machapuchare has never been climbed to its summit. The only attempt was in 1957 by a British team, but they had promised not to set foot on the actual summit.Since then, the mountain has been declared sacred, and is now closed to climbers.
