We arrived in Jomsum by 10 by the flight. We had nothing to do. The manager suggested Dhumba Lake. There are two options to go. The taxi which cost you NPR 3000 or trek. We opted for trek. Hotel manager arranged a guide for rs 1000 INR. The guide was useless not knowing anything and waste of money. The trek was almost 12 KM with elevation of 100 meters. A simple trek. It goes near the Kali Gandak river. Lots of rock formation, soil formation can be seen from nears as you walk. It is quite windy. Needs to be properly dressed with full cap. We reached the lake in almost 150 minutes. It’s a small lake. Having many fishes. Neat water. Very few visitors. A cool, calm serene place. To visit trek is the best way.

About a 10-15 drive from Jomsom bazaar, this lake was surreal! Pristine, beautiful, calm and relaxing- this place left me speechless. I realized how blessed we are as Nepalese to have this beautiful part of Mother Nature in our country. The only place I could think of that came close to this beauty was Switzerland. We were asked to refrain from touching the water in order to preserve the purity, cleanliness and sanctity of the water, which we didn't mind at all.
You can get a good view of Jomsom and the local airport when you're here. There is also a small restaurant by the lake where we ordered tea and biscuits. It was an amazing feeling, sipping on a hot cup of tea with the view of the lake and the snow-capped mountains behind it.
If you visit Jomsom or Muktinath, you don't want to miss the chance to visit Dhumba lake. It is definitely worth it!

This lake is around 40 mins walk from Jomsom airport. We preferred walking to experience the gravelled path and nice weather.
We walked by the side of rivulet, found horses gazing on the way. Loved it!!
The wind blows hard during the day. So, you will experience some pebbles on your way but we took this as fun and laughed on the way.
The lake itself is so clear, green/blue reflection on water. I assume, the best view is after mid day once the reflection goes towards the water but before the sun goes down.
One of the best place so far!! Peaceful!!

The distance between Jomsom and Dhumba lake is about 5-6 km walk across the river which took us one hour to reach there. It is situated at the base of Mt. Nilgiri. The lake is tiny but beautiful. According to locals the sacred lake was built by "Padmasambhava", a Buddhist scholar to offer water for prayers.

Not sure why this location was also not listed on TA and thought to do so for the convenience of rest of visitors. It is a beautiful lake, clear water lake situated at the base of Mount Nilgiri. The lake can be reached on foot following a moderate trek of 5.5 kilometers starting from Jomsom (Mustang) or partly by car up to suspension bridge on Kali Gandaki. There is also another route from the Jomsom bazar via Thinigaon where one can use car to reach at this lake. There’s also a gompa (or stupa) called Kuchup Terenga Gompa which lies about fifteen minutes of uphill walk from the lake. People can enjoy horse riding, boating and can take photos with Yak. Some local shops are there which can serves teas and snacks and there is a nominal charges for the entrance.

The place is very good, mesmerizing, and has a spectacular natural view of the lake. Clean and blue lakes, but be prepared for wind. Mind your caps.
