Stunning interior of the King's chamber, the mosaic walls, quarters of 4 Queens and 40 concubines...easy to walk right by if you don't have a guide - to the left of the east gate the outer walls are nondescript...

The palace incorporates Emir’s dwelling and separate dwellings for his four wi Es. That evidently was not enough for Emir. It has a section for courtesans, kitchens etc. nicely decorated and interesting

Possibly the most beautiful building in Khiva, the Stone Palace/Tash Khauli has so many intricately designed areas you don’t know how you could look at it all in one day and appreciate the immense amount of work that went in to making it so divine....More

They have special exhibitions inside and this place used to the private palace of the king's family where no ordinary people can go. Go with a guide so you know what to look for. Not big, but interesting, spend 30 minutes there should be sufficient.

We had a good visit to the palace. Most of the time was spent in the harem area. Visiting where the Khan had his private chamber and the courtyard and small rooms where the ladies of the harem lived was very interesting.

The harem, the receptions hall and the judgement hall are three parts of the palace tash khovli. The labyrynth style construction of the palace and the colors of its Harem guaranty a wonderful visit. Recommended.

Large old Palace, complete with harem. Ornate ancient Muslim architecture. One of the best (must see) historical buildings to visit whilst in the old city of Khiva.
